Facebook latest roll out “Security Checkup Tool”

Most of us must have fall a victim to Facebook hacking, getting random posts posted on timeline offering products on big discounts, un-wanted status updates or some other news feeds.



To avoid further troubles, people usually update Facebook account security settings, delete objectionable posts, change their login id & passwords additionally removing suspicious apps to eliminate chances of getting their accounts vulnerable for further destruction.

Hence, Facebook is introducing a new security tool called Security Check-up at the top of news feed to make the platform more secure for the users. The check-up tool is designed to help users by making it easy for them to spot and use security functions previously hidden in settings option, from the classic settings àsecurity page breaking them into three simple steps.

The new tool prompts users to review and update their security settings to be aware of who’s accessing their accounts and to which app’s they have given permission to utilize their information. It also provides details regarding passwords and password security.

1. Once you click “Get Started”, at the top of your news feed a list of all the devices and apps which are currently logged-in with your Facebook account will appear and you can remove any of those who are not sure about security.

2. The next element of the new checkup system is “Login Alerts”. It enables you to recognize unfamiliar activities and login alerts via emails. Though, this feature was already there in Facebook but adding this feature again in this tool is like an additional layer for secure user experience.

3. The next section is a listing of tips on how to improve and update passwords if necessary.
