Facebook’s New Event Subscription Button

The social networking site Facebook rolls out a new feature “Event Subscribe” Button which will allow subscribing the events managed by artists, bands, businesses or other Facebook pages.

Facebook has added “Subscribe” button to the pages on events section under the event’s ‘Like’ button. This will allow Facebook users to follow events section of any page and get the notifications about the events organized by their favorite artists or bands.


This ensures that fans will never miss any update about the events. After subscribing, Facebook will push a notification about the events which will work as an invitation to the event. This will not only help fans to attend the performance of the artists they like but also creates an opportunity for artists to increase their fan following and companies to grow the business.


The notification about the events will appear in the Events Dashboard. In the Events Dashboard you will also get the suggestion for subscribe to events from the pages you have liked. Also, you and your friends will be able to see each others subscribed pages. You can also unsubscribe from any events.

On the desktop, the Events subscribe button is on the Event tab rather than the page’s home screen. The Event tab, by default is not visible on the pages, user can access it by clicking the “More” drop-down button. While on the mobile devices, the Event Subscribe is in the Event section just above the timeline and by default it visible to users.

How to Turn on the Subscribe Button on Facebook Page
  • Click the drop-down arrow at the top-right of any Facebook page and click Account Settings.
  • In the left sidebar, click Subscribers.
  • Select the check box to allow subscribers.

With clicking Subscribe button users can choose which types of updates they get: Life Events, Status Updates, Photos, Games, Comments and Likes, Music and Videos, and Other Activity.

  1. Another try of facebook to strengthen the loyalty of its customers - artists, bands and businesses. This feature will surely add some more fan following for the businesses or to the artists of these events.
